Charming and comfortable and a great location
Spent 2 nights at The Ivy recently and would highly recommend it. Charming and comfortable and a great location. We stayed in the 'Florence' room which is beautifully appointed with a comfy bed, lovely linens, and lots of thoughtful little extra touches. The room was sparkling clean and the whole place looked extremely well maintained. It’s just a short walk to Commercial Drive ( with tons of interesting restaurants ) and easy access to downtown, but on a nice quiet side street.

Perfect Setting For A Vancouver Stay
We stayed in the ‘Ivy’ room which pleasantly looks out onto Parker Street. The thought that went into making the space warm and welcoming is evident in every detail of the lodging: immaculate, locally produced soaps, crisp bath-robes and a bottle of wine awaiting the first still moment. It is a short walk to Commercial Drive where we found a bounty of restaurants (excellent Indian food) and shops to investigate. A charming spot to anchor our Vancouver visit … we’ll be back … hopefully in summer when we can enjoy the outdoor decks and patios.

Wonderful stay, great location !
This was my second time here and it is exceptional. The location is steps away from Commercial Drive in Vancouver, which is full of amazing restaurants and cute boutiques.
It is a heritage home that has been renovated beautifully. Beds are super comfortable and Margit is very welcoming. She is full of recommendations for the best restaurants in the area. On my second stay I was in the Retreat Apartment and it has everything you need for a long stay. It is larger than most apartments in Vancouver !
I highly recommend the Ivy on Parker and can't wait to return.

An absolute gem
If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Lovely comfortable room and a host (Margit) who couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. Very flexible about checkout, and our room overlooked a pretty and quiet garden.

Fantastic place to stay for a visit o Vancouver
Our stay at the Ivy was perfect! The old house is beautiful and our room was amazing! It was wonderfully decorated with so much attention to detail. Comfortable bed, everything was clean and spotless, Keurig coffee machine in the room,etc. We enjoyed sitting out on the verandah to enjoy a beautiful view of the neighbourhood and Vancouver. The Ivy is a close walk to loads of restaurants , Mobi bike sharing stations, transit. Sisters, Margit and Janet are super friendly and helpful! We can’t wait to visit and stay with them again!

Stop Looking !! This is the perfect place for your trip to Vancouver.
We absolutely LOVE The Ivv on Parker Guest House !! It is a gorgeous and meticulously maintained home with fabulous landscaping. The location can't be beat. We didn't even have to rent a car and we were able to get all over Vancouver (Stanley Park, great restaurants and shops, Harbor,Granville Island, Victoria and Butchart Gardens, etc.) with ease. The Ferry ride to Victoria is breathtaking !! Do that for sure !!
We had the perfect sunset view from the top floor apartment (which we adored!!). The bed is extremely comfy, the kitchen is fully stocked and the bathroom (with clawfoot tub and shower) is beautiful.
Margit and Janet are wonderful, kind and accommodating hosts. Communicating with them was both easy and pleasurable. They thought of everything to make our stay extremely comfortable and relaxing.
The next time we are in Vancouver, The Ivy on Parker is a must (We miss it already!!).
Definitely book here. You will not be disappointed.

Wonderful guest house, loved the flowers.
We really enjoyed our stay. You can tell this is a well loved and cared for home. The bed was very comfortable. The bedding and towels are very soft and absorbent. We liked having a coffee maker, tea pot and mini fridge, it made traveling so much easier. We had the Ivy room and loved the size of the room and the porch in the front where we could sit and enjoy the sunsets. The location was good. There are restaurants, grocery store and liquor store within walking distance. There are stairs , no lifts. There are steps up to the house and on the front porch.Unless you rent the ground apartment there are stairs up to room. The neighborhood is quiet. We had room on street side and never heard any noise

Great B&B one block off of Commercial Drive
We had a great experience at the Ivy on Parker Guest House in August 2023. Janet and Richard were great hosts and the house is very well appointed. The house is in a great neighbourhood with big leafy trees. The house has a very nice garden.
Rooms were spotless and the bathroom was very modern. The A/C split unit in the room was very, very quiet and let us cool down the room on the warm Vancouver evenings.
We stayed in Molly's Room, woke up each day and walked down to Commercial and around the corner to Moja Coffee. Make sure to ask Janet for her suggestions for restaurants - we did and they paid off.

We stayed in the Loft, which was wonderful. Beautiful view from the Juliet balcony and the 2 skylights. The bed was very comfortable. The room was lovely and included everything we needed and more. Full kitchen, walk in closet, sitting area, and plenty of space. One of the owners, Janet, was so friendly and helpful, responding quickly to anything we asked or needed. Only 1 and 1/2 blocks to many local restaurants. No question that we would stay there again.

Great neighborhood, spotless home, comfortable beds
Beautiful heritage home, lovingly restored. Bathroom modern but in style with house. Even has heated floors. Common areas are porches and we enjoyed coffee ( coffee maker in room) and pastries ( from a nearby bakery ) on the porch. In poor weather one would be in the cozy chairs in t your room.

Perfect stay at very nice location
The owner was extremely helpful and friendly from the very moment we booked. She answered all our practical questions promptly by mail, on site made room for the bikes we rented in their private shed so these would be safe, gave us advice about our visit and made us feel truly at home. Everything was super clean, fully equipped and cozy. The house itself is a little gem, two steps away from "The Drive". Public transport and bike lanes nearby. The lovely garden with sitting area are an amazing spot to enjoy a drink or a meal outside.

Nice Little Break in Vancouver
The Ivy on Parker was wonderful! It's a beautiful historic home within walking distance to a bustling neighborhood downtown with restaurants, bars, shops and parks. Margit our host, was extremely kind and very helpful. We loved our stay here!
We stayed here for 3 nights after an Alaskan cruise, so we could visit Vancouver and Victoria. Location was perfect!
Rooms were all super clean with all amenities such as coffee maker, refrigerator, and many nice extra personal touches. There are cute outdoor sitting areas to relax with a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
We would definitely recommend staying here, and I hope we someday get back to visit!

Lovely place and great location for visiting East Van.
The room was lovely and had everything I needed to make my short stay comfortable. The electric fireplace is a charming feature and the heated bathroom floor was a treat. The location was very convenient for my visit and so was the self check-in and self checkout.

The Ivy was lovely and in a quiet residential road. We were met by Margit who was helpful getting us into the property. Pre stay communication was first class. The room was very clean with luxury bedding and bathroom. a coffee machine was provided. The wifi was very good. It was a 20 min walk to the skytrain but buses into town were at the end of the road and prices for both were very reasonable. There were many shops, restaurants and bars along the main road within 5 to 20 mins walk, in a very lively area with some colourful characters.

fabulous place to stay. The property is lovely and the staff were very helpful.Location was perfect.There is a great coffee place five minutes away ..and then a lovely walk after. There are also many dinner options. We actually had a rental car but ubered so easily to and from downtown for dinner. We stayed in the Retreat which was lovely. We are at a spot in Victoria now and I miss that bathroom already!!

The Ivy has been renovated to a high standard. We were in what I think is the smallest room, Molly, but it was still more than big enough for our 3 night stay. Lovely towels and bathrobes. Great shower. Heating and air con depending on time of year. Nice space to sit out on at the front .
We already had restaurant reservations but there is a variety of options within easy walking distance.
Magrit was very friendly when we met her and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed.

Don’t go to Vancouver
Parker Street is lovely with old Avenue trees and vintage houses reminding me of the Richmond District in San Francisco. The vibe on Commercial Drive is great in the evening and there is a wonderful variety of cuisine on offer including a great Indian, a wonderful oyster and seafood bar, Vietnamese, Ethiopian and vegetarian all in a traditionally Italian neighbourhood with pizza and pasta galore. At 1842 the linen was superb, the pillows so comfy, the bath so welcome, the hosts very friendly, Netflix a bonus, great coffee although the breakfast blend far surpassed the French and Colombian and a great veranda to sit and sip your wine in the evening.

She answered all our practical questions promptly by mail, on site made room for the bikes we rented in their private shed so these would be safe, gave us advice about our visit and made us feel truly at home. Everything was super clean, fully equipped and cozy. The house itself is a little gem, two steps away from "The Drive". Public transport and bike lanes nearby. The lovely garden with sitting area are an amazing spot to enjoy a drink or a meal outside.

Everything!! Margit made us feel welcome even before the arrival, she sent an email out after the first night ensuring we were happy and asking whether we need anything. She was very friendly and chatty when we bumped into her on two separate occasions and even offered to store our luggage after the check out. Everything has been thought through in this place. There were even freshly cut flowers on the table and a bottle of wine for us to have. The loft apartment exceeded our expectations with its coziness and having everything we needed.

The property is exceptional. Located within a beautiful traditional house in a leafy green tree lined street. A perfect base to explore Vancouver. A way from the hustle and bustle of the city a quiet relaxing place to unwind. The retreat is sublime, with every home comfort. A wonderful large comfortable bed with high quality linen. A very well equipped kitchen with high quality appliances and such detail to cater for your culinary needs. From mixer to blender with all the cooking utensils you would need for preparing any meal. Even a draw with things like sellotape and bits and bobs like you would have at home. An extremely comfortable living area with a beautiful feature fireplace and a lovely study alcove . There are top of the range washing machine and dryer with everything provided to use them. The bathroom is beautiful with a wonderful walk in shower and separate bath, luxury dressing gowns and towels are provided along with high quality locally made toiletries. There are lovely outside seating areas which overlook front and back well maintained and beautifully stocked gardens. The owner Margit provided lots of information before our visit including how to check in. However we were fortunate to met her on our arrival and She was very welcoming and gave us valuable information on travelling around the area. Also was very helpful booking a taxi for us to go to the airport when we left. Look no further for your stay in Vancouver. You can not find anything that will surpass the Ivy .

This home was awesome! Margit was so very nice and extremely helpful in giving us ideas where to go and in securing our airport ride. This is a historic home, rooms were very clean and furnished with everything to make our stay so enjoyable! Nice outdoor sitting areas. Coffee maker and refrigerator in each room. Two blocks walking distance to bustling street with shops, restaurants, parks and bars.

The accommodation is located in a nice area near Commercial Drive, with many cafes, bars, restaurants and small stores. We were at the accommodation before check-in time and could leave our luggage there until our room was ready. We were greeted very warmly and immediately felt very comfortable. An amazing place to stay when visiting Vancouver.
We were very warmly welcomed by the owners who gave us a short introduction to the place, what to do in the neighborhood as well as where to go when visiting the city center.
The room was very nicely and charmingly decorated and furnished and clean; it had everything you could ask for.
The balcony on the second floor invites for a nice view towards the city center and you can enjoy a beautiful sunset.
While the house is located a bit farther from the city center, it is easy to get there with a bus that runs not far from the place. However, close by is a busy street that has a lot to offer itself, little shops, restaurants and more.
We felt immediately welcome and really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely back when visiting Vancouver.

The neighborhood was beautiful, the house was stunning and the room was cozy and we absolutely loved it! If you enjoy dark academia/ victorian vibes you will love this place. The bed was very comfy and I loved the furniture in our room. It was at the back of the house so very quet but the street in general was not busy at all. We also loved that there where no children and the other guests where respectfull noisewise. We felt very welcome and hope to come and stay there again.

Luxury at a great price - can’t wait to come back!
Great location, 10 minute walk max to tons of great restaurants and shops on commercial dr. including grocery stores and convenience locations, as well as the #20 bus route that takes you right downtown. The room was absolutely gorgeous, heated floor in the bathroom was such a bonus! We took a relaxing soak in the luxurious tub and were delighted with the provided soaps, lotions, and bubble bath! The towels were lush and the bathrobes were perfect. We almost wished it had been chillier so we could have taken advantage of the fireplace. The room was bright and airy and the temperature control was fabulous, always comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the second floor terrace in the morning, too. If there were other tenants in the house we didn’t notice - although it is a heritage building we found it very quiet and private! We are so looking forward to our next trip to Vancouver and hope to book at the Ivy again.

We had a great stay at the Ivy, honestly it exceeded our expectations! We knew it was out of the downtown zone but it is right off a really great shopping and restaurant street. We ended up not really leaving the area as much as we thought. Parking was easy and free (another huge bonus!) and it was near transit for when we went downtown.
Our room was "The Ivy" on the 2nd floor at the front. It was very big and had a nice bathroom and good soft sheets. There was also a lovely terrace that we didn't have the chance to enjoy as there were other people out there.

Everything, Janet and Margit were very welcoming and would always ask if we needed anything and even arranged a mid stay clean and tidy of the apartment for us. They gave us little tips and local advise for things to do and places to eat if we ever got stuck.

Exceptional quality. We were welcomed with a lovely Okanagan wine & glasses. The coffee was terrific & fresh cream pods in refrigerator was fantastic. Tea selection very nice as were the honey packets. The outdoor sitting areas were lovely & we thoroughly enjoyed them. Terrific restaurants, food markets and nearby small shops were fantastic. The owner (Janet) was incredibly hospitable & so helpful. This place is a GEM & we’ll definitely be back again. Would be perfect stay for a special occasion!

Beautiful accommodation, quiet, clean and beautiful interior. Bottle of wine was ready. Delicious beds, clean bathroom (with all the amenities you need). Janet contacted about the email, which was very pleasant and Margit was present at the property. Nice reception. You are 15 min (by bus) outside the city but we liked that (bus every 15 min on the Commercial drive). Around the corner you have a long street (Commercial drive), with many restaurants and that offers a lot of fun. We went there with great pleasure.
